3D Printing

3D Printing

3D Printing at STEMFun shows children how ideas become real, working objects, not just cool dragons. They learn basic CAD tools to design their own parts, then turn those designs into physical models using 3D printers – just like engineers use for rapid prototyping and testing new products. Along the way, we explore how 3D printing supports bespoke one‑off designs and low‑volume manufacture, from custom brackets to assistive tools and unique gifts. Children also practise sustainability by turning waste PET drinks bottles into usable plastic filament, seeing how plastic can be recycled into something genuinely useful rather than thrown away.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Slicers

Step by step lesson, learning how to produce 3d designs. How to use slicer software to send designs to a 3D printer. Essential skills in so many professions.

Turning Waste into Filament

In the Waste to Filament portion of this course, children discover how to transform PET drinks bottles into fresh 3D‑printer filament, ready for 3D printing, with us or at home.

3D Printing and Assembly

Take our 3d designs and our filament and produce tools and models.
There is even the option to print your own 3D printer or plastic bottle to filament production line,.

recycling

Turn waste into wow: children learn how to strip, shred and recycle everyday PET drinks bottles into fresh 3D‑printer filament, transforming rubbish into useful, ready‑to‑print plastic for new creations.
